“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet."
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 5:13-16
Hello there! I run saltshakercity and I'm glad you're checking out my site!
I'm just your average high school student. I run this blog to inspire my creativity and writing and as a place to share some of my works and ideas.
I call myself saltshakercity as a kind of metaphor of what I'm striving to do and be. A light, even when I feel like all that's left is darkness, a place you can trust in, find shelter in, somewhere you won't have to hide or be afraid anymore.
A list of adjectives that I believe describe me quite well are: clumsy, introverted, slow pensive, easily-startled, musical, rule-abiding, habitual and most definitely procrastinating. How this whole combination works, I haven't the faintest idea.
Some uncategorized facts about me: I love tea but I've tasted few (peppermint). I love musicals but have listened to few (Dear Evan Hansen). I play the clarinet, the bass clarinet and the cello but can definitely improve. I make a lit banana bread. And I can whistle decently enough.
Enjoy your stay! Check back soon, I'll be sure to update as often as I can!
"Art. Even the poorest will suffer the toils of their craft because they trust that someday it'll lift them out of it."

ABOUT ME

A novice novelist, amateur artist, mediocre musician, origami enthusiast, problematic poet and erratic reader. I've got Canada in my pocket (a little bit of history) and should probably be doing something else.
