Two month after it's release in Finland, I FINALLY REMEMBERED THAT THIS WAS A THING THAT WAS HAPPENING AND HAPPENING RIGHT NOW AND I'M PANICKING TO FIND ALL THE EPISODES AND I'M READY FOR THIS FANDOM TO RISE FROM THE DEAD AND MEET IT'S BEAUTIFUL NEW HORIZONS.

Tove Jansson comics literally feel like home, it triggers this unexplainable nostalgia even if you've literally never read them before. I took out this HUGE anthology of the comic strips from the library (it's always on hold;;;) and it was so great to read through them and find the Moomin's wacky adventures! I've watched one of the movies as well as watched a few episodes of the 1990 show, and it was just the greatest discovery of my life. These comics mean so much to so many people and have really brought out the best in all of us. The stories are bizarre but they make such witty comments on our own realities that you can't help but fall in love.

AHH I'M SO HAPPY FOR THIS ADAPTATION!!!!!!!!!!

The new 3D animation for me took a bit getting used to, but it's really done very well. The colours are just gorgeous and the voice acting was really smooth! Granted, I am watching the English version so I dunno how it's changed in the Finnish and Japanese ones. I really loved the voices in the original but these actors really brought their A-game! Imma try to convince my Kingsmen fan friends to watch it now.

It's just such a groundbreaker, such an inspirational thing that exists and I'm so so happy it does. Eternal gratitude to Jansson for creating such a rich world and lasting memories.

If your unfamiliar with the story, it's about this youth named Moomintroll who lives in a tall blue house with a red roof in Moominvalley. Moominpapa and Moominmama are his loving parents and they're house in constantly being visited by a whole manner of interesting characters. Little My is a wry young girl with a penchant for mischief and back talk, and Snufkin is Moomin's best friend who come to visit Moominvalley every spring through to fall.

This is the first EVER animatic I've seen for this fandom as of now and as it's making it's way back into mainstream relevance I'm SO EXCITED to see what else is in store! I hope maybe I can make some contributions too~ but we'll have to see about that! I finally got Paint Tool Sai from one of my friends so I'll let you know how any ventures into the world of digital art go!

Also..I just found out today that Notre Dame burned down a couple days ago...I'm still in shock??? Like, this historic cathedral is just gone now...can't imagine how many people are outraged at the loss of all that history.

Well, pardon me, but I'm off to watch the next two episodes of Moominvalley and get some math work done. And also maybe start that project that's due in 48 hours. Quite the time cruncher, aren't I?
