NaNoWriMo November 2016

National Novel Writing Month has been an event I've been participating in for the past four years. I love NaNoWriMo, it teaches writers everywhere to get their novel out on the page, saving the grammar lessons and historical accuracy for another time. Because ideas need to get out and though it seems a daunting challenge, that's the whole beauty of the month of November too.
And despite my high praise for NaNoWriMo, I have a confession to make.
I have never, EVER won.
*hangs head in shame*
*wallows in the pits of self-pity*
FOUR YEARS. GEESH WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU.
Don't get me wrong. I try my darndest.
Well, actually, that's a lie.
I always feels like I am in no shape to write a novel. Every year when this season comes around, with school challenges, stalled inspiration and all the gears in my head all rusty and yucky, I just can't seem to focus. I just never feel it. I've wanted to write all my life, and yet, I make such excuses. I can hear my parents yelling at me in the vicinity.
As you can probably tell, I suffer from chronic procrastination and it's doing loads of joy for my life.
The thing is, I've had a taste of the frenzied writer's life. I get spurts of inspiration that I occasionally spend the all-nighter chasing. I've had my share of exhausted dreary writing and fabulous pepped up writing and I just so badly want nothing else but write for the rest of my life but I've never come to the point in which I can say that it is my life.
At least not yet.
Because tomorrow brings it's share of troubles, and today's are cast away and join out never ending history folder. But you know what. Todays are what make tomorrows. So I am participating in 2016 NaNoWriMo. And this time, I will complete my novel. I have a website and people backing me up now, so I really can't give the prospect of failure a chance or else you can yell at me and I will be sad.
I hope you'll join me on this journey! Are any of you writing in NaNoWriMo this year too? We're all in this together! Fight on everyone!
But now to the dreaded question...
What in the world do I write.
I've been juggling four different story ideas in past NaNoWriMo participations, and it really is a struggle to decide whether or not I should reboot and old one or come up with something new. Like, should I delve back into my world of crime-fighting space turtles? Re-channel my energies into last year's Potential? Continue my fractured fairy tale or come up with something else entirely?
At this point, I really don't know. But I'll be sure to update you soon! You can explore some of my old ideas here on this site I think if you dig hard enough. I'm not really sure where I even put them.
In the meantime, stay flavourful everybody.
P.S. Hopefully these blog posts will become more organized in the future! I'm still starting out and getting used to some stuff, so I hope I find my method sooner or later. Thanks!
